13th Annual Johnson City Turkey Trot

Start: Legion Street Parks & Recreation Area (Runners – starting line on State of Franklin Rd; Walkers on Legion Street.)
Finish: Cardinal Park

Race begins at 8:30 a.m

School Division

The Up & At ‘Em Turkey Trot encourages participation by our schools. This year all Turkey Trot participants may select a school to run/walk on their behalf. During registration, go to the schools drop down menu and select your school. If it is not listed, add your school in the “other” box.  Volunteers are also included towards your participation numbers.

 

SMALL School Division

(Student enrollment 799 and below)

Winning schools will be based on the highest number of participants registering for that school.

First Prize:     $1,000
Second Prize: $   500
Third Prize:     $   250

LARGE School Division

(Student enrollment 800 and more)

Winning schools will be based on the highest number of participants registering for that school.

First Prize:     $1,000
Second Prize: $   500

Do you want to be the GRAND MARSHAL for this year’s Turkey Trot?

If so, design your Turkey by coloring and writing a creative story.  If you are a Johnson City elementary student, give to your teacher by Nov. 9th.  If you are from another school system, please send them to Johnson City Turkey Trot, 3101 Browns Mill Road, Suite 6-182, Johnson City, TN 37604.  The top 10 will be chosen  and posted to our Facebook page.  The week of Nov. 12th, our fans will vote on the best story/picture.  We will choose the winner from the top three entries with the most likes and the winner will be revealed during packet pickup.  The winning student will be this year’s Grand Marshal!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19th AT 9PM

You can register online, at The Wellness Center or at the Memorial Park Community Center until Monday, November 19th at 9 p.m. After that time, you can not register until Tuesday, November 20th at 12 p.m. at the Memorial Park Community Center.

Family Discount – Family of 5 Or More, Immediate Family
If you are part of a family of 5 or more (immediate family members only!), you will receive a $2 discount per family member. For example, a family of 5 will receive a total $10 discount. There will be a question during the registration process to receive the discount. Please be honest!

Student 18 Under Discount
Students 18 and under will receive a $5 discount off the regular entry fee. Answer the appropriate question during the registration process to receive the discount.

ROAD CLOSINGS

East Main Street – from Bert Street to State of Franklin Road. This section will re-open once the race has cleared Legion Street/East Main Street/State of Franklin Road intersection.

State of Franklin Road – from East Main Street/Legion Street intersection to Watauga intersection from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

​Legion Street – from East Main Street/State of Franklin Road to Orleans Street from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 10:00 a.m.

Watch for parking directions as you move into the Turkey Trot area.​
